FOOD STORAGE

A long time ago a Lebanese friend of mine told me her grandmothers secret for keeping leafy greens (silver beet, kale and spinach etc) fresh in the fridge for weeks. I've since used it for anything I want to store in the fridge and have had great success.

Wrap your leafy greens or other veggies in a clean dry tea towel, and then wrap this bundle completely inside a plastic bag. It should be airtight. Store in the fridge until needed. The tea towel spreads and regulates the moisture and the plastic prevents dramatic moisture loss.
