Transition Farm, a small family farm located on the Mornington Peninsula is excited to be starting their first Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program in January 2012.
The farm is focused on growing wholesome, natural and chemical free vegetables, fruit and herbs using sustainable farming practices. Households who sign up to the upcoming program, also called the Summer Share, will receive a box full of fresh, organic, local produce each week. All produce is grown on the farm from seed, whose progress along with other happenings on the farm and the development of the CSA can be subscribed to via their website or by going to the page ‘Seasonal Notes’.
Commencing on Friday 20th January 2012, applications are now being taken for this first shortened introductory program, which will run through until the end of February. After this initial six week program, the next CSA program will start up again in full swing on 1st Sept 2012. This program will run through Spring, Summer and Autumn to end on 31st May 2013.
As they say on their website - “If you want to know where your food is grown, who is growing your food and how they are doing it – then we hope you will be interested to look through our website and join us for our summer program which starts in January 2012.” All details on the farm, what to expect in the weekly box, costs and how to sign up can be found at www.transitionfarm.com or questions can be emailed to
