2010-2011 season now open

We are now accepting expressions of interest and establishing the food hubs for the first 20 veggie box shares.  Priority for food hub locations and shares will be made to those expressing genuine desire for a sacred connection to their food source and by paying their deposit.

Existing food co-ops

For existing food co-ops there is potential to tailor the arrangement with the growing team as much of the work and investment into the distribution has already been done. Please contact Travis to talk about the possibilities.

The Veggie Boxes

For our first few seasons we will be growing a diverse range of delicious seasonal vegetables. Whether it be the dozen varieties of tomatoes, or various potatoes lettuces, zucchini' and pumpkins your taste buds will go crazy with the superb flavours and hand grown and picked produce. Summer and Autumn boxes will be greater in variety and weight then Spring and Winter but each week the boxes will be excellent value.

The first boxes will be available November the 15th  and the last box for the season is the 31st August making it a 42 week season. We are starting with two sizes of boxes for the opening season and we even have funky names for the boxes!

Pricing Structure
Our pricing has been evolving as we learn more about what we are growing, how we do it and what the needs of the community. The latest pricing I love and think it hits the spot on value and meeting
the farms needs. The pricing is flexible to cover fluctuating operating costs (eg transport and labour).
Pricing will continue to evolve with each hub as they form.

The prices of boxes will be different for each hub depending on
- size of boxes
- distance from farm
- community involvement and participation

Summer season trial

We plan to run a small trial with a few families in Yarra Glen, Eltham and Warrandyte  as we learn the ropes of the CSA adventure. After the summer holidays we will be opening to more hubs in areas where there are interest and community support.

Warrandyte/Eltham box price
The current price for the basic boxes to be delivered out to Warrandyte and Eltham are the

$25 BOX to feed 1-2 adults

$40 box to feed 2-4 adults

The most likely drop off day for farm will be Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday depending on community needs.

Flexible pricing

The prices can come down if there is some form of committed assistance
throughout the entire season. For example, subscriber hubs may take
turns to come and help pick and pack  and transport. This will reduce
price of box substantially. The exact figure will have to be created
between group and growers. It could be up to 20% off the price of the
box.

Packing and distribution

Packing and distribution will be a shared task between the members and the food growers. Some food hubs may come to the farm to help with picking and packing and take their boxes with them, others may not have the time or energy and in these cases the grower will take on this responsibility and deliver the boxes to the designated food hub community pick up.
